Tech Review: Blu R1 HD Android Phone from Amazon

In this tech review I’m going to review the Blu R1 HD Android phone from This is the first phone I purchase from I decided for the Blu Chinese brand because it had good reviews, and a great price. So I wanted to give it a try and see whether it was a good phone or not. After using the phone for three months, I can say I’m very impressed with the phone. So if you are interested or considering getting a Blu phone, here’s my review.

Fast 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6735 ARM Cortex processor with 16 GB Internal memory and 2 GB RAM

8 MP main camera and 5 MP selfie camera that includes a front-facing LED flash
4G LTE plus GSM unlocked for your favorite compatible carrier.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Visual appeal of a high-end smartphone
Good camera 8mp
Two sim card slots (good international travel)
Call quality is good.
Fast loading and swiping
Easy to switch between multiple apps
Lots of room for storage 2g ram 16g storage
Comes stock with Google Chrome (and Google everything else)
Fast access to Amazon Prime shopping
Ease of use
Easy to transfer SIM data from old phone to this phone

Loaded with preinstalled apps (bloatware) can be.disabled.
Ads displayed on lock screen.
Semi-fast charging
Sound quality on speakers shappy

In my opinion, this is one of the best phones you can get for this price. If you don’t do a lot of gaming, this phone is a much better choice than forking out $650 plus for an S7. Also, I would consider spending extra 10$ dollars and get the model that comes with 16GB and 2GB RAM, as the cheaper version 49$ dollars only has 8G of internal memory and 1G or Ram. Which is not much considering how much space the most popular apps consume today.

Get the Blu protective case.
If you get this phone you will find out that the only case that fits this device is the Blu case. So you may want to get the two together.

if you have a google account just add the account to the new phone and everything will get synched. If you don’t have an account then you’re going to have to backup the contacts off the phone and transfer them… good luck!
